Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of conditions including bone, muscle, nerve, ligament and joint injuries.
Osteopathy helps treat problems by correcting and improving the body’s natural healing mechanisms. A wide range of manual treatment methods are used which are safe, effective and vary according to the individual.
The osteopath will apply a highly developed sense of touch to identify points of weakness or excessive strain throughout the body. The treatment programme also includes advice on factors which may have contributed to the problem such as posture and lifestyle. Advice is also given on appropriate exercises for rehabilitation.
Most private medical insurance companies cover osteopathic treatment (with GP referral).
It is recommended that you wear comfortable clothing. During examination and treatment from an osteopath you will normally be asked to remove some of your outer clothing. Please wear appropriate clothing that you feel comfortable in e.g. appropriate underwear, tracksuit bottoms, shorts, sports bra/sports top or T shirt.
A courtesy blanket is provided if required.
Please call 07970 043908 for an appointment. If you feel more comfortable with a chaperone please feel free to bring someone with you when you have your treatment.
